NOVEMBER 2019 Election Information

The Town Council has ordered an election to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5. to determine if the 4A Development Corporation should be dissolved, and the associated sales tax revenue allocated to the Town's General Fund.  This would result in no change to the total sales tax rate.  More information...

Beginning this fall, you can vote at any Dallas County polling location, including Town Hall. For a complete list of polling locations, to request an absentee ballot, to view a sample ballot and other important voting information, please visit Dallas County Votes.

Oct. 21 - Oct. 25 (Monday - Friday) 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 26 - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 27 - 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Oct. 28 - Oct. 30 (Monday - Wednesday) 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Oct. 31 - Nov. 1 (Thursday & Friday) 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 5 - 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

May 2020 Election Information

General Election

The Town Secretary serves as the Elections Administrator for the Town. Currently the Town contracts with the Dallas County Elections Department for administration and coordination of any regular or special Town Elections.

In early 2020, the Town of Sunnyvale will call a General Election to be held on May 2, 2020 for the purpose of electing two Town Councilmembers, designated as Places 3 and 4. The Councilmember terms are for a period of three years.  Both incumbents – Mark Egan, Place 3; and Jim Wade, Place 4 - are eligible to run for re-election. 

An informational candidate packet for those who may be interested in learning more about running for Sunnyvale Town Council is also available at Town Hall (127 N. Collins Rd., Town Secretary’s Office).  The period for submitting an application for a place on the May 2 ballot runs from Wednesday, January 15 through Friday, February 14.

It is anticipated that the Town of Sunnyvale’s municipal election will again be administered by the Dallas County Elections Administrator, as has been done in past years. Early voting is scheduled for Monday, April 20 through Tuesday, April 28. Election Day voting will be held Saturday, May 2 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Specific information concerning polling locations and early voting times will be made available on the town website and on the county Election Administrator’s website as soon as those details become available.

Applications for ballots by mail must be requested from and mailed to the Dallas County Elections Administrator’s Office and received no later than the close of business on April 20. The address is 2377 N. Stemmons Fwy #820, Dallas, TX 75207.
